Grants. The lifeblood of many provider organizations. Rooted in a strong grant strategy and nourished by your ideas, I can find funding opportunities and prepare competitive proposals to support the programmatic and financial growth of your organization.
Grant writing, and more specifically grant seeking, is a journey that requires careful planning, organizing, and executing against stringent formats and (sometimes) tight deadlines. To be given fair consideration for funding, your mission and that of your prospective funder must be in lockstep and the purpose of the grant announcement must align with demonstrated need. Over the years, I have seen organizations with a formal grant strategy experience more success in their funding pursuit than those without one because a grant strategy is proactive and prevents wasting valuable time pursuing mismatched funding opportunities. Together, we will partner to build your formal grant strategy. I will identify those opportunities for which you will have a high likelihood of receiving funding and will then write the grant proposal, with your input on designing new programs or services, planning for implementation, and building sustainability.
If you have a grant writer on staff and would like an external, objective review of drafts prior to submission, I provide adjunctive grant preparation. From basic proofreading to mock scoring, I will review your draft, provide recommendations for correcting typos and unclear statements, and suggest other edits for improved cohesion. As a seasoned grant reviewer, I am always hunting for the golden thread – that critical connection among all sections of the grant proposal. If you’ve dedicated an abundance of time and energy into completing a draft, don’t allow grammatical errors, typing mistakes, formatting issues, or the missing golden thread to harm what would otherwise be a fundable score.
